Background History of the Core Strategy

 

The Core Strategy is the first part of the Local Development Framework to be submitted (in August 2009) to the Secretary of State.

An independent Inspector was appointed by the Secretary of State to hold an Examination in Public into the Core Strategy his name was Paul Crysell BSC MSC MRTPI.  The programme officer was appointed her name was Andrea Copsey.

The examination commenced on 15th December 2009 the programme of dates for the examination is available to download. The purpose of the Examination was to test whether the submitted document was 'sound'.

In addition to the main submitted documents, there are also various historic documents which show the stages in preparing the Core Strategy. Those are listed below and can be downloaded, if you are interested.

 

The fact check provided an opportunity for the Council to identify any factual errors and to seek clarification on any conclusions that are unclear. It does not provide any scope to question the conclusions. The fact check should be completed within two weeks of received the report i.e. by 6 April 2010.

  • Issues Report (2001) - COMPLETED
  • Forward Planning Committee Report (September 2001) - COMPLETED

 

Launch of the Forest Heath LDF - In November 2003 a Working Group of Officers and Council Members was set up to work on replacing the Local Plan with a new style LDF in accordance with the Planning Compulsory Purchase Act 2004.
