Hatchfield Farm, Fordham Road, Newmarket - Appeal Reference 2142030

Forest Heath District Council is presently defending an appeal by Lord Derby against this Council's refusal of his plans to develop Hatchfield Farm, Newmarket for up to 1200 houses, employment space, and other associated uses. This is scheduled to be dealt with via a 12 day Public Inquiry commencing on 12 July 2011. The appeal is generating a great deal of interest as well as a considerable extent of reports, letters and other correspondence. In order to ensure ready access to all this information to anyone who wishes, pertinent documents are being posted within the Council's online 'Planning Explorer'. Furthermore, the Authority has been advised on 13 April 2011 that the Planning Inspectorate will now accept written comments on this appeal right up to the commencement of the Public Inquiry in July 2011.

To that end, any representations that you may wish to make on this proposal should be set down in writing, quoting the appeal reference number above and received by the Planning Inspectorate (Sian.Evans@pins.gsi.gov.uk ) before the start of the Inquiry on 12 July 2011.  If you wish to discuss the matter before responding, please contact the Council's Planning case officer, David Beighton, initially by telephone on 01638 719470, or make an appointment to meet in the office.

The programme officer for this appeal is Jane Orton, Senior Legal Executive. She can be contacted on 01638 719328.
