Guidance for Public Notices
A Public Notice is required in respect of all new applications and applications for variation. It must be completed and printed on pale blue paper. It is important that the font size is equal to or larger than 16 (as shown on the template). The notice must be displayed prominently at the premises so that it can be read from outside, for a continuous period of not less than 28 consecutive days starting on the day following the day on which the application was given to the relevant licensing authority. Complete the declaration on the application form confirming that this has/will be done. Send copies of both the public notice and a copy of the newspaper notice as soon as you have obtained a copy of the latter.
Notes for completion of Public Notice
For new applications, state proposed licensable activities.
For applications to vary state proposed variation, insert the required information (start and closing dates cover a 28 day period, starting on the day after the application was given to the Licensing Authority).
