Home-Link
Home-Link is a choice based lettings (CBL) scheme offering more choice to housing register applicants in Forest Heath and six neighboring authorities. Applicants on the housing register will have their housing needs assesed by the council and are allocated a housing needs 'band' based on their circumstances.
Home-Link is primarily a web-based system that allows applicants to apply for housing and bid for properties online, although this can also be done by telephone, by text, in person or by post.
The Home-Link scheme advertises virtually all of the available housing association properties that become available. In addition to advertising properties online, a fortnightly magazine advertising all available property is produced and distributed across the sub-region too.
Applicants on the housing register can use Home-Link to see what properties are available. Accommodation is allocated in accordance with the council's lettings policy.
The highest band, for those with urgent needs, is Band A; the lowest band is Band D, for applicants who are assessed as already adequately housed. Most offers of accommodation will go to applicants in the higher bands.
