Energy and Water Consumption Efficiency Assessments
The Councils Building Control offers a range of energy and water consumption efficiency assessments which are required by The Building Regulations 2010.
SAP (Standard Assessment Procedure)
SAP is the Government's recommended system for energy rating of dwellings and is used for calculating a propertys energy efficiency against a notional target. Included in the service is the EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) which is required when selling or renting a property.
The charge for this service is currently:
£160.00 + VAT = for the first of standard dwelling type; and
£80.00 + VAT = for each additional dwelling of a similar type.
£170.00 + VAT = room in roof dwelling type; and
£80.00 + VAT = for each addition room in roof dwelling of a similar type
SBEM (Non Domestic Energy Assessment)
Should you require an SBEM Calculation for your project, please provide us with the drawings and specification and we will be happy to provide a quotation for this service.
Water Consumption Calculations
Wholesome Water Consumption Calculation. All new dwellings or those formed by a conversion require their potential water consumption per person per day to be to equal or less then 125 liters. We provide calculations to show the target will be met. We can provide the calculations on their own or as a combined SAP Energy and Water report.
The charge for this service is currently:
£50.00 + VAT = for the first of each dwelling type; and
£30.00 + VAT = for each additional dwelling of similar type i.e. have the same water fittings
Area Weighted U-Value Calculations
As part of the services Building Control provide we are able to offer an Area Weighted U-Value Calculation service for excessively glazed extensions, for our customers including those out side the Forest Heath area. For more information on this service please contact Building Control.
