Horse About Newmarket
Horse About Newmarket is a community art event to celebrate the town's unique position as the headquarters of British Horse Racing.
Following a competition, thirteen artists were selected to paint life-sized model horses, basing their designs on the name of a 2000 Guineas winner. Sixteen smaller horses were painted by local schools, youth organisations and charities.
All the horses are now on display in various locations around Newmarket, to get up close and personal to the horses, why not follow the walking trail, which will take you to all of the full-sized horses, as well as showing many of the smaller horses.
At the end of the summer, the horses will be auctioned, and the profits will be shared between two local charities, Racing Welfare and St. Nicholas Hospice.
