THE Red Lodge Conservation Group is about to celebrate its first birthday.
The group's first Annual General Meeting will be held at the Red Lodge Millennium Centre on Wednesday 9 April from 7pm to 9pm. Anyone is welcome to come along and find out what the band of volunteers has achieved in just a year and to hear ideas for the future.
The group meets bi-monthly at the Red Lodge Inn, Turnpike Road, Red Lodge. Anyone is welcome to come and join the group and work to improve and conserve the Site of Special Scientific Interest Heath area.
The next meeting dates are Wednesday 14 May and Wednesday 16 July both start at 7pm and refreshments are kindly supplied by the Red Lodge Inn.
Monthly Working Parties are held on the first Sunday of every month, 10am - 12.30pm. At these sessions volunteers help clear and conserve the Heath, make friends and learn about the rare insects on this site. For these sessions the group meets at the Millennium Centre, Red Lodge armed with gloves and wearing sensible shoes! Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
