FOREST Heath District Council is offering the chance to train as a Lifeguard.

            The week-long practical and theory course runs from 22 to 26 October at Mildenhall Swimming Pool with the final exam for the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification on 27 October.

            The course is open to anyone who is:

• Over 16
• Can dive to a depth of 1.8 m
• Can swim 50m in 60 seconds
• Can swim 100m on their front and back
• Can climb out of a pool, unaided and without using steps or ladders
• Can tread water for one minute
