A SERIES of summer activities are being organised by Forest
Heath District Council and its partners to help young people and
families enjoy the summer break .
The fun starts with the return of the district wide free Turn Up
and Play sporting sessions. Also planned are a range of day trips
to Pleasurewood Hills, Chessington World of Adventure and
Southend.
The first of the day trips will be heading for Pleasurewood Hills
on Monday 28 July - a limited number of tickets for this special
trip are being offered free to celebrate the launch of the
2008 summer programme.
The ticket includes entry to the park and the coach journey will
be accompanied by staff, who will provide a point of contact during
the day. To reserve a seat, simply call 01638 719295 during
office hours with details of the number of people in your group,
their names, ages and emergency contact details.
Parental consent is needed for any young people under 16
travelling unaccompanied and anyone joining the trip will be asked
to sign a code of conduct for the day.
Member Champion for Younger People at Forest Heath District
Council, Cllr Simon Flack said: “As well as providing a range of
different things for young people and families to give a go during
the summer holiday we hope that we will help families who do not
have access to their own means of transport to enjoy the holiday
break. ”
Trips to Chessington World of Adventure and Southend later in the
summer have been supported by the Youth Opportunity Fund and will
be open to anyone aged 13-19.
