FITNESS staff from Forest Heath District Council are planning to
run for 24 hours to raise money for Children in Need.
Six staff are going to run, on a treadmill, at the Dome Leisure
Centre, Mildenhall, from 6pm on Friday 16 November to 6pm on
Saturday 17 November. There is a sponsorship form at the Dome for
people to support the runners.
Staff at Mildenhall Swimming Pool will be dressing up in
outrageous costumes to rattle buckets on Children in Need Day. This
year they are also offering children in swimming classes the
opportunity to swap roles with their teachers! Visitors to the pool
can buy home made cakes and buns for Pudsey's fund, win a course of
swimming lessons for next term or enter a scratch card game to win
a Pudsey bear.
There is also a charity squash evening on Friday 16 November at
the Dome to raise cash for the Priory School in Bury St Edmunds
that caters for children with special needs. The squash tournament
starts at 7pm and anyone can enter for £10. Ask at the Dome for
details.
