FOREST Heath District
Council is offering the chance to train as a pool lifeguard during
the February half term.
The five-day course leads to the National Pool Lifeguard
Qualification and teaching is from 11 - 15 February with an exam on
16 February. Sessions will be held from 8am to 10.30am in
Mildenhall Swimming Pool followed by theory and practical sessions
at Forest Heath District Council offices in the town.
The course, which costs £200, is open to anyone who is over 16 and
can:
• dive to a depth of 1.8m
• swim 50m in one minute
• swim 100m consistently on front and back
• climb out of the pool unaided without using the
steps/ladders
• tread water for one minute
