FOREST Heath residents can express their views on the district council’s licensing policy.
The council is asking residents, businesses, applicants and others to have their say on the Statement of Licensing Policy – the document that sets out the rules for making licensing decisions.
People are also being asked for their views on a special policy for Newmarket. This Cumulative Impact Policy would let councillors take into account the number of existing licences in a certain area when deciding any new applications.
Councillor Susan Honeyford, Member Champion for Community Engagement and Communication, said: “The number of licensed premises, particularly in Newmarket, can have a great impact on local residents. This makes it very important for us to hear as many views as possible before considering new policies.”
Your views – by letter or email – must reach Forest Heath District Council by Sunday 11 November. Both the Statement of Licensing Policy and the questionnaire about the Cumulative Impact Policy can be found on the website www.forest-heath.gov.uk
