Join our Lark in the
Park |
Lark in the Park is back and
it's bigger and better than ever!
On Saturday 12 July at 10am the gates of the Jubilee Fields in
Mildenhall will open for the second community fun day organised by
Forest Heath District Council.
Free to enter, Lark in the Park will feature a superb array of
entertainment, excitement and refreshment and is a showcase for all
that is good about Forest Heath.
There really is something for everyone with crafts and climbing
wall, sports and singing, horses and hawks.
One of the most popular attractions of the day is fishing for
"alien" crayfish in the River Lark. These signal crayfish are
destroying the native variety and our river banks and your help is
needed to catch them. Everything you need to catch at crayfish will
be available on site.
The power of the rare Suffolk Punch horses will displayed with
rides around the area. While the skill and intelligence of dogs in
the United States Air Force will be put to the test in the
arena.
Sports feature at this year's event with Suffolk Sports showcasing
a variety of activities in have-a-go sessions in several arenas.
Forest Heath District Council's Leisure teams will be showcasing
the equipment to be found in sports centres across the area. For
the really adventurous there is a superb climbing wall to scale -
if you dare!
There is entertainment and music throughout the day from a wide
variety of artistes performing on stage and around the field.
Younger visitors can join a carnival workshop, learn clowning
skills or watch puppet shows.
A craft fair, featuring local craftspeople, will be offering a
range of hand crafted goods from jewellery to bags with cards,
quilts and lace in between! You can find the craft stalls in the
Jubilee Centre.
If all this activity leaves you thirsty and hungry then the Beck
Row Women's Institute is providing home made teas, the Bunbury
Players will be offering lunches, there's a hog roast and you will
always find an ice cream seller within strolling distance!
There will be additional car parking at Forest Heath District
Council offices on the day.
