FOREST Heath District Council is offering FREE short courses to
introduce people to the idea of working in the community.
A series of three short sessions, in Brandon and Red Lodge, will
explain community development learning and how the council, working
with partners, can help.
The sessions will explore these questions and topics:
- what is community development?
- how to engage with the community
- skills for representing your community
- what makes a good community development worker?
- how to motivate and involve people
- find out more about different types of courses in community
development.
The sessions are open to:
- anyone who has an interest in working and living in the
community
- people who are beginning to get involved in community
activities
- voluntary and public sector organisations.
The sessions in Brandon Community Centre, Bury Road, Brandon are
on 6, 13, and 20 February from 6.30pm to 9pm.
In Red Lodge the sessions are being held at the Community Centre
in Lavender Close on 4, 11 and 18 March at the same times. There is
an extra session at Red Lodge on 25 March on the topic Improving
the Environment through Community Buildings.
