THE third annual food festival in Forest Heath is being held from
20-27 September, coinciding with the first week of British Food
Fortnight.
Forest Heath District Council, organisers of the week long event,
is looking for businesses within the district to participate. This
is an exciting opportunity for your business to raise its profile
and to promote and celebrate all that Forest Heath has to offer in
terms of local food, producers, buying locally and helping reduce
carbon foot prints.
You do not have to been in the food industry to participate – last
year Moons Toymaster in Newmarket celebrated the week with a
special window display and in store demonstrations of cooking for
little chefs. Equally, food producers and retailers have offered
special menus featuring local produce, promotional offers and even
food and wine tasting sessions. If you would like to participate
but aren’t quite sure how then there are ample sponsorship
opportunities. Waitrose sponsored the Big Cook-Off competition
which pitted two local schools, supported by local chefs against
each other in a battle to create a culinary
masterpiece.
All ideas and suggestions for events and activities relating to the
Food Festival are welcome. For more information, to discuss an idea
