CRICKET
teams across the Forest Heath district have competed in the annual
indoor Cricket League hosted by the district council at Brandon
Leisure Centre.
Worlington
‘A’ ran away with the league competition by winning all eight of
their games, all by convincing margins.
It
was in the Knock-Out Competition where things really became
competitive.
The
final saw the League Champions and favourites for the Knock-Out
Competition Worlington ‘A’ come up against Mundford ‘A’ who
finished in 6th place in the league.
Mundford
‘A’ batted first and posed a surprising yet formidable score of 115
for 3 at the end of their 10 overs.
Worlington
‘A’ started off well scoring 40 runs off just three overs, however
a couple of crazy run outs and good bowling soon put the total out
of reach, and in the end Worlington ‘A’ were bowled out for
85.
Both
teams will hopefully be back next January to hopefully regain their
respected titles.
