A MONTH of grueling challenges at Forest Heath District
Council's leisure centres has produced some worthy winners.
Members of Newmarket, Brandon and Mildenhall leisure centres
undertook the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge. This involved using
fitness equipment to complete tasks that represented the equivalent
of lifting a rhino, rowing across the Thames and climbing the
Eiffel Tower - not all in one go!
This challenge was aimed at adults and junior members, whose
challenges were similar but not quite as demanding!
There were prizes for the top three competitors at for each
site, but everyone brave enough to attempt the challenge was
offered a small prize for taking part.
First place adult winners won a Christmas hamper donated by
Budgens, the former supermarket in Mildenhall. Second place winners
each received a heart rate monitor and third place won a goodie bag
and vouchers.
The juniors first place winners an iPod Shuffle, with second
place winning a goodie bag and vouchers.
The overall Forest Heath District winner for the juniors was
Craig Wharf a young man from Brandon who bagged himself a
brand new Diamond Back mountain bike, donated by Revel Outdoors of
Newmarket.
