BUSINESS Link and Forest Heath District Council are joining forces
to host a drop-in event for small, medium sized businesses and
anyone thinking of setting up a venture of their own.
The aim of the event on Wednesday 27 February is to encourage local
entrepreneurship in the Forest Heath area and provide impartial
advice to help local businesses grow and sustain.
The event will be held in the council's offices in College Heath
Road, Mildenhall where Business Link advisers, who understand the
needs of small business, will be on hand to talk to existing
enterprise owners about the issues they are facing and what help is
available.
For anyone thinking about working for themselves – whether full or
part time, there will be also be an opportunity to chat about the
best way forward
Forest Heath and Suffolk County Councillor Lisa Chambers said:
"This is a fantastic opportunity for people running small
businesses, or anyone considering doing so. There is so much
expertise and advice available, and all free! Small business,
start-ups and growing companies are crucial for a prosperous and
dynamic Suffolk into the future. Take a chance, consider some great
new ideas, please be there on the 27th!"
Fiona Lascelles
, local Enterprise Awareness Manager for Business Link said: “Being
your own boss can be really rewarding, but it can be a big step,
especially if you aren’t sure what the legal requirements are – or
even whether your business idea will really make you money. It
makes sense to get as much information as you can before taking the
plunge and Business Link can help. We are able to point you in the
direction of all the knowledge you need to start up and grow. There
are real opportunities for new local businesses in and around
Mildenhall and I would certainly recommend anyone who has dreamed
of working for themselves - whether as a big business tycoon or
simply regularly selling on e-bay - to come along.’
Stewart Wallace from Anglian Precision Ltd says: “Business
Link worked with us to identify opportunities for improving our
pricing and financial monitoring, we now enjoy enhanced awareness
of our financial performance and are pricing jobs more
accurately.”
If you are thinking about working for yourself, or if you already
have a business and would like some advice, come to Forest Heath
Council Offices on 27 February any time between 10am and 4pm and
meet your local business advisers.
