AN area of Brandon is going to get a Spring clean thanks to a cash
contribution from one of the town's councillors.
Councillor Bill Bishop, Chairman of Forest Heath District Council
and a Suffolk County Councillor, has given £2,000 from his locality
budget for the project in Green Road, Brandon.
Work to trees in the area has already begun and on Thursday 20
March residents, council staff, volunteer American airmen and women
and school children are holding a litter pick in the area between
10am and 1pm.
Forest Heath District Council has contributed a further £2,000 to
the project which is being spent on bulb planting and more tree
work.
Councillor Tony Simmons, the Forest Heath Member Champion for the
Environment, said: "I thank Councillor Bishop for his important
contribution. As a council we have a commitment to ensuring high
standards for our environment and we welcome community involvement
in projects like this."
