The
service aim is "to develop and co-ordinate activity and
participatory programmes, in partnership with education and health
agencies and voluntary sector in particular, to maximise
achievement in sport, encourage personal fitness and healthy
lifestyles, particularly in young and older
people."
We offer a range of services designed to encourage people of
all ages to develop a healthier lifestyle through participation in
sport and physical activity. To complement the
facilities and activities offered by our swimming pools,
leisure centres and countryside service, we have
dedicated staff working in sports development and the Active 4
Life GP Referral Scheme.

Our fully equipped Toners studios have an extensive range of
cardiovascular and body toning equipment, something to offer
everyone. Whether you want to tone up, lose weight, build strength
or increase
stamina, we can help. Our friendly, qualified fitness staff can
offer personal training programmes and fitness assessments to suit
your needs. An induction will be required to show you how to use
the equipment and on completion of the induction you will be given
a personal programme.

Fitness equipment with a difference! Every piece of the Aquagym
range is designed to be used in the pool. The system enables the
body to be placed in a non-weight bearing position, meaning that
less stress is placed on the joints and fewer muscular problems
occur as a result.
