We take every opportunity to protect and improve the countryside in
partnership with local communities and external organisations.
Local Nature Reserves are managed for and with the local
communities they serve.
In addition to well-managed open space and parks, Local Nature
Reserves provide an excellent resource for quiet recreation,
enjoying wildlife and environmental education in close proximity or
actually within our towns. Our Countryside Section will endeavour
to ensure that these valuable reserves are accessible to all, with
wheelchair accessible paths, gates, information and, in some cases,
parking facilities.
