Our Countryside Service is currently trying to
formulate a full picture of the district’s landscapes and wildlife
in both Greenspace Audits for the three main towns and a Landscape
and
Biodiversity Audit
for the wider rural areas of the district.
These audits are being undertaken to give a baseline of the
district's landscape and wildlife, from which we can work to
protect important features and species and also target our
conservation efforts and resources where they would be of highest
value.
If you would like to help us record all of the special features
and known locations of rare species which are not already recorded
we would love to hear from you. We have resources to help you
undertake surveys in your local area - whether to record the
landscape and local special trees to the specific location of
bird nesting sites or vascular plants.
By undertaking this work you can help us safeguard the important
things in your local environment to ensure that they thrive for
current and future generations to enjoy.
