Forest Heath offers financial assistance towards adaptations to the
homes of our disabled residents.
We are working with a Home Improvement Agency (HIA), Hanover at
Home, to deliver the necessary facilities and adaptations. The HIA
will act as a central liaison point throughout the entire process
and ensure the specified works are carried out satisfactorily to
meet the needs of the resident. These works must be specified by an
Occupational Therapist who will firstly make an assessment of
essential needs. The HIA will then work with us to adapt the home
of the disabled person, which will normally be owned or privately
rented.
The HIA provide services enabling vulnerable people to
continue to live independently, safely and securely in their own
homes for as long as possible to improve their health and
wellbeing.
We have made a commitment within our Housing Strategy to develop
the effectiveness of these services for older and
disadvantaged residents. Our policy will be to try and assist our
most vulnerable residents improve their homes as we know that
better housing means better health.
You can obtain more information and access these services by
contacting 01638 719354, alternatively contact Suffolk County
Council's Adult & Community Services (Enhanced Customer
First) on 08456 023023 if you wish to have an initial
