The Waste and Street Scene Enforcement team use powers under
environmental law to protect and improve our local
environment. The team deal with a variety of environmental
issues including littering, flyposting, graffiti and
flytipping. We work closely with businesses, The Environment
Agency, the police and fire service, the Forestry Commission and
other land owners, as well as other Council departments to provide
a safer, cleaner and more pleasant environment for Forest
Heath.
Our Enforcement Officers have the power to issue on the spot Fixed
Penalty Notices for some offences, such as littering, or take legal
action in more serious cases such as flytipping.
All of our enforcement actions are undertaken in accordance
with our Enforcement Concordat and the Council’s enforcement
policy, in order to promote openness and consistency.
