There is no excuse for dropping litter
Forest Heath District Council and St Edmundsbury Borough Council
are working together to deliver the ‘No Excuses’ litter campaign.
The campaign is designed to raise awareness of some of the excuses
people may use for dropping different types of litter and the
reasons why these excuses are not acceptable.
The campaign will target six main types of litter:
- Food and drink litter;
- Cigarette related litter, such a butts and packets;
- Dog fouling;
- Littering from a vehicle;
- Fly-tipping;
- Chewing gum.
The campaign will run throughout the year focusing on each
litter theme at different points during the year. The campaign will
launch at the end of February and will first focus on food and
drink related litter. As part of the campaign we will be working
with local businesses to help them reduce the impact of food and
drink related litter arising from their premises. We will also be
promoting the Spring Clean Suffolk fortnight where we will be
working with local groups and parish councils to organise clean
up’s throughout the district.
Each theme of the campaign will feature focused activities and
promotional initiatives. If you would like to find out how you can
get involved in the No Excuses campaign contact us at

There is no excuse for dropping litter and we need you to help us
eliminate unacceptable
excuses.
