Pest Control
Properties that are infested by vermin are the responsibility of
the owner to deal with. The Council has a preferred operator
(Ecolab) that meets our required standards and has been registered
to carryout a residential pest control service. The service
includes surveys and treatment to eradicate pests, including rats,
mice and wasps.
Contact: Ecolab - 01638 719234 for 24hr pest
control services.
Visits to investigate for rats and mice will be charged at a
flat fee of £47.50. They may include a survey and treatment
with a maximum of 3 visits. For details on other treatments contact
the pest control hotline: 01638 719234. An emergency service
may be available for evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
The contract, including all payments, is between customers and the
supplier. The quality of the service will be monitored by the
Council: we are interested in receiving your feedback on the
service that you have received.
The Environmental Services inspect for rats and mice,
throughout the District, and may take enforcement action where
necessary to remedy the situation. If there is a problem with rats
living on land in substantial numbers please
contact Environmental Services.
Insect infestations on a large scale may be a statutory nuisance,
if they are affecting you from a neighbouring property. Follow the
link below for more information on statutory nuisance.
