Petitions

We have a scheme which explains how we will deal with petitions - which should be about a service we provide. You can create a petition online and sign an existing petition through our e-petitions page.

You can submit a paper petition in the normal way. If you collect 200 signatures you could trigger a Council debate or require officers to give evidence at a meeting of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee.  Overview and Scrutiny is the committee responsible for scrutinising the work of the authority.

We do not accept petitions that are vexatious, abusive or otherwise inappropriate.
