Introduction to Online Payments

If you need to contact our cashiers:

Telephone: 01638 719754
Office Hours: Monday to Friday 9:15am - 1:15pm.
Email: cashiers@forest-heath.gov.uk

In January 2006 we installed a new cashiers’ system, which allows you to pay online.  This is a convenient and time saving feature for occasional payments and for those who do not already make regular payments by direct debit.  If you are confident using internet payments, the link below will take you directly to our online payment form.

Note: The email receipt  service is currently suspended and will result in an error message.  Despite this, your payment has gone through if you reach the receipt page.  Please print your receipt.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

How do I pay online?

Have your bill, invoice or document to hand and simply complete the online payment form and use the ‘Accept’ button.  If you choose to cancel your payment before completion, you can simply use the ‘Cancel’ button and all the details you have entered will not be recorded in our system.

What will I need to enter?

You can pay more than one bill.  For each bill:
  • Select the type of bill (Fund)
  • Enter the reference number for that bill (Sundry debtors only: enter the account number immediately followed by the reference number)
  • Enter the amount you want to pay
  • Click the ‘add’ button if you want to pay another bill.
When you have entered your payment(s), you must then enter your card details:
  • Card type
  • Card number
  • Issue number – only for cards that have an issue number
  • Issue date (month and year) – only for cards that have an issue date
  • Expiry date (month and year).
Please enter your Payer Details to help us resolve any problems; as a minimum:
  • Title
  • Forename
  • Surname
  • House No / Name
  • Street
  • Town
  • Post Code
  • More may be required for some payments.

How do I get a receipt?

When you ‘Accept’ the payment, you will be given a transaction reference number.  We suggest you print this to use as a receipt.

Note: The email receipt  service is currently suspended and will result in an error message.  Despite this, your payment has gone through if you reach the receipt page.  Please print your receipt.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

What if I encounter problems or am not sure about my payment?

Use the contact details shown above.  If you can tell us the receipt number, it is easier for us to check your payment.

Security Information

  • How we protect your information – We use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, which is an industry standard for internet payments.  This means all of your personal and card details are protected using 128 bit encryption when your details are transmitted over the Internet.  Our site is secured by Verisign.
  • Check you are using a secure site – When your browser displays the online payment page, you will notice that the URL at the top of the browser window starts with https instead of http. You will also see a closed padlock icon in the bottom right hand corner of your browser window.  Put your mouse over the padlock for a little while and you should see the encryption strength.  It should be at least SSL Secured 128 bit.
  • If you share your PC or use a facility in a public place – Make sure you are not overlooked as you enter your details and close the browser window and, if applicable, log off when you have finished.
