Forest Heath District Council was
honoured with two Beacon Council status awards
in 2006. A Beacon Council is one that leads the way
in specific fields of work.
The first award recognised the work we had undertaken on recycling,
in partnership with Suffolk County Council and district and borough
councils in the county.
The second award was for our work with the Anglia Revenues
Partnership. This group was formed by Forest Heath with
Breckland Council in Norfolk to provide a joint Council Tax and
Benefits service to our residents. Since receiving the award,
East Cambridgeshire has also joined the
partnership.
