All councils in the UK are
required by law to publish an Annual Statement of Accounts
which is compiled in accordance with a code of accounting
practice laid down by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and
Accountancy (CIPFA).
The Statement of Accounts gives financial information on all the
services we provide during the year as well as the financial
position at the year end.
Our Draft Statement of Accounts for 2007-08 was approved at a
Special Council meeting on 26 June 2008.
Prior to approval, the Draft Statement of Accounts for
2007-08, underwent scrutiny by the Performance and Audit
Committee on 23 June 2008.
In addition to the above, the Outturn Report and associated
documents for the year ended 31 March 2007was reported to the
Performance and Audit Committee on 3 July 2008.
