The Finance and Accountancy Service supports all other Council
services to help us achieve our objectives in the Corporate Plan
and Best Value Performance Plan.
Financial activities have to comply with relevant Codes of Practice
as recommended by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and
Accountancy (CIPFA). CIPFA is the leading professional accountancy
body for public services in the United Kingdom and a member of the
Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies.
Proper accounting practices are adhered to in accordance with the
Local Government Act 2003 and the Accounts and Audit Regulations
2003.
Budget Book
Each year the Council sets a budget for the following year and
formulates a Medium Term Financial Plan which covers a five year
period . The calculation of our portion of the Council
Tax is based on this budget.
