Our Purpose


Enable all electors to have the opportunity to vote as easily, conveniently and securely as possible, ensuring all eligible persons are included on the Register of Electors.

Our Aims


  • Produce annually an accurate Register of Electors in accordance with statutory procedures.
  • Process monthly, applications for additions, deletions and amendments to the published register.
  • Ensure that the ability to vote by other methods is freely available.
  • Carry out efficiently the process and conduct of elections at European, parliamentary, county, district and local levels, in accordance with the statutory provisions.
  • Promote involvement and increase public awareness of the electoral process and inform the public of impending elections through a variety of media.

Our Work 2007/08

  • To implement the developments of the Electoral Administration Bill and provide a high quality service.
  • To implement the collection and checking of personal identifiers of absent voters.
  • To raise public awareness to the electoral process.
  • Conduct a full polling station  review to evaluate access for the disabled.
  • Encourage and promote the alternative options of voting.
