If your complaint is about the conduct of a Councillor who may have
breached the Code of Conduct please send your complaint to the
Chairman of the Standards Assessment Sub Committee c/o The
Monitoring Officer, Forest Heath District Council, District
Offices, College Heath Road, Mildenhall, Suffolk, IP28 7EY or by
email to
legal@forest-heath.gov.uk
using the Code of Conduct Complaint
Form. This form can be downloaded
and then either printed and posted to us or completed
electronically and emailed to
legal@forest-heath.gov.uk.
The Code of Conduct sets out the rules
governing the behaviour of Councillors in the local authorities

Complaints about the conduct of Parish
and Town Councillors within the Forest Heath District should also
be submitted using the above form to the same address.
Complaints against County Councillors
need to be made to the Standards Committee of Suffolk County
Council.
The assessment sub-committee of the
Standards Committee at Forest Heath can only deal with complaints
about Councillor’s behaviour. Any complaint must clearly show why
you think that the Councillor has not followed the Code of Conduct.
Complaints about other matters will continue to be dealt with under
the main complaints procedure.
The initial assessment of the
complaint will be made within 20 working days of receipt. If the
decision is to take no further action a complainant has the right
to ask for that decision to be reviewed.
