Local Government Review
The long summer break is here, but the work continues in Forest
Heath!
We have planned a superb summer programme for younger people and
their families and you can find out more on this website's pages
for younger people.
The serious work continues too with our gathering of your views on
local government re-organisation. You can find out more on
this website on the local government review page.
The Boundary Committee has proposed two unitary councils in Suffolk
- one covering Ipswich and Felixstowe and one covering rural
Suffolk (without Lowestoft). The other option that finds
"merit" with the Boundary Committee is for one unitary council for
all Suffolk (minus Lowestoft).
It is the Boundary Committee that is consulting on its ideas, but
we are seeking views to help inform our reply which needs to be
submitted by 26 September.
We have written to you asking for your preferences from a list that
includes the Boundary Committee's ideas. We need your views
by 31 August so please watch out for the consultation leaflet
and letter.
