How you can pay your Council Tax

  • By Direct Debit

Paying by Direct Debit is the easy way to pay.  You can choose from the following payment dates ~ 1st or 15th of each month.  If you wish to pay by Direct Debit, please contact our office by telephone on 01842 756567.

  • By telephone

You can make a payment over the telephone using your debit card.  Please telephone 01638 716980.

  • On the internet

You can make a payment on the internet using your debit card by clicking on make a payment

  • By post

Send a cheque made payable to Forest Heath District Council (please quote your account reference on the back of the cheque) and post it to Forest Heath District Council, College Heath Road, Mildenhall, Suffolk IP28 7EY.

  • In person

You can make a payment in person by debit card or cheque only at the following locations:

Mildenhall
District Offices, College Heath Road, Mildenhall
8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday
8.30am to 4.30pm Friday

Brandon
Information Centre, 31 High Street, Brandon
9.00am to 2.00pm (closed 12.00 to 12.30)
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday

Newmarket

Council Tax Banding

Each dwelling is billed for Council Tax, whether it is a house, bungalow, flat, maisonette, mobile home or house boat, and whether it is owned or rented.Each property is allocated to one of eight bands according to it's market value on 1st April 1991. Properties in Band D pay the basic charge, properties in other bands are charged proportionately.




These amounts help to pay for the services provided by:

  • Forest Heath District Council
  • Suffolk County Council
  • Suffolk Police Authority
If you reside in an established Parish or Town Council area, your final bill will have an additional sum that is a contribution to them.
