Youth Involvement Strategy
Forest Heath District Council are currently consulting with
young people and professionals on 'Youth Involvement' in Council
services.
Forest Heath District Council are looking to implement a 'Youth
Involvement Strategy', outlining their commitment to youth
involvement in services.
The strategy aims to:
• Identify policies for youth participation and lay out the core
values for active involvement.
• Develop a greater commitment to youth involvement across the
council, both culturally and structurally
• Empower young people to be able to ‘have their say’ about how
the council works.
• Recognise the importance of young people’s scrutiny role as an
integral part of local democracy
• Enable young people to gain experience of democratic
processes, whilst developing a range of personal and social
skills.
If you are a resident of Forest Heath, and/or work with children
and young people in the district, and would like to have your say
on Youth Participation at the Council, please contact Keri Bird,
Community Development Officer (Children and Young People) on 01638
719788 or email
youth@forest-heath.gov.uk
