At Forest Heath District Council:
- we want people to feel part of their community
- we want people to work together to improve the quality of life
for all
- we value diversity
We want to learn more about what local people think about the
council and the way we deliver our services. We have a
Consultation and Community Engagement
Strategy that outlines the council's approach to
consultation and community involvement.
We have an Equality Policy at the council which will
shape the way we engage isolated or minority groups. We want to
have an inclusive community where people feel their opinions are
listened to and valued.
We are a partner in the Western Suffolk Local Strategic Partnership
(WSLSP) and by supporting the work of the WSLSP, we are helping to
promote joint working with our partners.
We will not be able to consult people on every decision and indeed,
it would be unfair to raise expectations by carrying out
unnecessary consultation exercises. This is why all our
consultation will be done in a fair, ethical and responsible way.
We will make it clear to people whether we are information sharing,
consulting or encouraging participation in decision making.
The local councillors and senior officers of the council endorse
the view that local people should have a say in the way the council
runs its business.
