Vandalism is an illegal and anti-social act, causing criminal
damage and intimidation in communities. It can create a negative
feeling about an area. Any act of vadalism must be reported
for it to be acted upon. Forest Heath District Council work with
the West Suffolk Crime and Disorder Partnership (WSCDRP) to tackle
all aspects of anti-social behaviour including vandalism.
There are preventative measures which the Council undertake,
including;
- CCTV
- Working with the Safer Neighbourhood Teams
- Street Lightning
- Empowering communities to take ownership of reporting
vandalism
All incidents of criminal damage should be reported to
the Police:
- If you see it happening - call 999 immediately
- If you see it after it has happened or have any information as
to who has caused the damage - report it to the Police on 01284
774100
Any repeated locations of vandalism should be reported to the
West Suffolk Anti-Social Behaviour coordinator on 01284 774062
