Forest Heath were experiencing a number of issues within the multi-storey car park with the light fittings and lamps being stolen or smashed of an evening. A trial took place with seven light fittings over a six month period to monitor the performance. Capital Funding was approved for the project to replace all the existing lights with Thorux light fittings and 70w T8 fluorescent tubes which comply with the Carbon Trust's energy efficient option and will provide a saving benefit of 8% plus longer lamp life. The new light fittings have been surfaced mounted to the concrete beams in order to improve the lux levels within the parking bays The former redundant fluorescent lamps have been recycled which complies with Forest Heath's Sustainability Strategy. McIntyre Electrical Ltd. have completed the works with minimal disruption to car park users, with works over road areas taking place after 18:00. The new light fittings meet the Park Mark Safer Parking Standard, which Forest Heath will endeavour to make more progress towards achieving in the future.
