Sport Relief 2010 - Rise to the challenge in Forest Heath

Events are taking place at each of the Anglia Community Leisure Centres and Mildenhall Swimming Pool so everyone can show their support for Sport Relief from 19 - 21 March with three days of energy, entertainment and events.

The Brandon mile sets off at 11am on Sunday 21 March from Brandon Remembrance Playing Fields and entrants can complete one, three or six miles for their sponsored challenge. Over the same weekend in Mildenhall, people will be walking, jogging, running or sprinting their one, three or six miles on the Dome Leisure Centre treadmills. In Newmarket, people will be getting their walking shoes out for an event organised by Lee Petrucci of the Sports Injury Clinic which has a clinic based at Newmarket Leisure Centre. The Youth Forum at the Houses of Parliament

Youth councillors have written to Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, to ask for the opportunity to meet with him whilst in London on 26 March 2010. The Youth Forum members have been offered the unforgettable opportunity to receive a tour of the Houses of Parliament. The youth councillors will document their day in London and complete a report, that is hoped to be published in local newspapers.

Village of the year 2010 

The race is on to be named village of the year 2010. Judges will be looking at community spirit, care taken of the village, (this does not mean it has to be a chocolate box image!), its attitude to caring for the natural environment, the parish council and any special activities. To submit an entry, or for more information, take a look at the entry form.

Newmarket Customer Information Service

The Guineas Office refurbishment is nearing completion, with an opening now due in April. The office has been refurbished to offer our customers an improved service. The Customer Information Service is currently being delivered at Palace House, Palace Street, with opening hours of 9am to 2pm, Monday to Friday. We are looking forward to serving our customers from the new office as soon as it is open.

Car parking in Newmarket

We are about to launch the second round of consultation on car parking in Newmarket based on what you told us during phase one. It will be in Palace House Mews on 9 March 2010. It will be a drop in session between the hours of 2pm and 8pm.Information on the thoughts you gave us can be found in our consultation report.
